Members of the Rotary Club of Carlingford were pleased to join and support the loud voices calling for an End to Domestic and Family Violence at the walk and rally held in Parramatta on Wednesday 26th 2025.
The event was well attended with over 200 people registered on the day. The day was unseasonably hot to start, and this may have deterred some walkers, although the numbers were bolstered by school girls and teachers joining from local schools. The rally started well with Rotary International District 9675 Past District Governor Sue Hayward acting as MC and welcoming all to the event organised by the Rotary Club of Environment and Habitat, in conjunction with City of Parramatta and the Parramatta Police Command. Councillor Sreeni Pillamarri spoke on behalf of the City of Parramatta, followed by Donna Davis MP. Unfortunately a big storm blew through and disrupted the rally, which was brought to an early close. However by being just one of many Rotary events taking place in the 16 days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence in 2025, we are proud to take a stand.
