Days of Girls trip to Cambodia & Vietnam

I joined the Rotary Club of North Rocks in 1999, and have been involved in a number of overseas projects in Mongolia, Russia, Vanuatu, Cambodia and Fiji. In 2017, I was invited by SewAid director, Tony Castley to be the team leader of a Days for the Girls team in Cambodia, where I learned about the Rotary Sustainable Cambodia project.
Since then I have sponsored students through Sustainable Cambodia and returned to Cambodia this year to experience the further development of both Sustainable Cambodia and Days for Girls. I believe the model used by Rotary for sustainable development in Cambodia could be adapted to many developing countries.
On a personal level, I came to Sydney in 1993 with my husband and daughter. I worked at the Department of Education and Training and more recently at the Department of Family and Community Services, from where I retired in 2015. Retirement has seen me actively involved with Days for Girls, in addition to being a member of the Champagne book club and enjoying theatre, ballet and travel, including returning to South Australia to visit family and friends
